  1. 1. The Tuskegee Institute open the first “HeLa factory,”in 1951. The name of the company that would begin selling Hela for profit was Microbiological Associates.
  2. 2. Henrietta Lacks was born in Roanoke, Virginia in 1920.
  3. 3. In 1951 George Gey successfully cultures the first immortal human cells line. The name HeLa is given after the first two initials of Henrietta’s first and last names.
  4. The Polio Vaccine was develop by scientist in 1952.
  5. Jhons Hopkins is the hospital were Henrietta was treated for cervical cancer, it was founded in 1889.
  6. HeLa cells were first cloned in 1953.
